What Digimart does
Digimart sits between a developer's application and Grameenphone's billing systems. A developer who would otherwise need an operator agreement, a billing integration and a compliance process instead adds a redirect and a hash.
The business model
The platform runs on revenue sharing. A subscriber is charged based on the services they obtain, and this sum is divided between the service provider and Grameenphone on an agreed revenue ratio.
That structure is deliberate. It means a developer with an idea and no capital can launch without paying anything up front, and Digimart only earns if the developer earns first.
Why this matters here
In a market where card ownership is limited but phone ownership is close to universal, mobile-account charging is not a fallback payment method. For a great many people it is the only one. A developer who supports it can reach customers no card network can.
